If you do not have a snapshot, what is Driver Manager currently showing you for Nvidia options? If you have a snapshot, I suggest rolling back and then providing the output of dpkg -l | grep -i nvidia and inxi -SMCGx to see where things stand. Did you take a Timeshift snapshot before you upgraded to LM20.1? Sun 5:46 pmI think the fallback mode doesn't let show everything right because for example graphic driver should be nvidia, but since I'm unable to get the system working at the moment I can only send this. This output matches your file listing. I'll wait your answer before, otherwise I'll probably further mess up mint. When I first installed Mint it was on version 19 but I didn't use it till I updated to 20 because of driver problems with nvidia.Īfter that update I managed to install nvidia-driver-430 (I'm not 100% sure it was this version but I'm almost certain it was 4xx).Įverything worked well I was able to set nvidia prime on demand that resulted in no problem at all with intel graphic and after right-clicking on an app in the menu appeared also the option to "launch the app with the dedicated graphic card".Īfter the update last day from 20 to 20.1 I noticed nvidia settings opened only in a blank window and usingĬode: Select all WARNING: you should run this program as super-user. I'll explain what happened after the update and what I've already tried:

With this settings, Nvidia-only mode in prime-select works and seems almost ok, but if I choose on demand or Intel mode rebooting my pc ends in cinnamon crashes and fallback mode. This is the configuration I have after a day spent trying to fix everything.
